Ensure there are no critical applications running prior to testing to prevent data loss.<\/li>\n<li>Immediately order replacement batteries anytime a UPS self-test identifies weak or dead internal batteries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KEEP CURRENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the Minuteman Resource Library for any firmware or software updates:\n<ul>\n<li>UPS firmware updates are listed under the UPS model<\/li>\n<li>SentryHD software and SNMP card firmware updates are listed under Network Accessories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>BATTERY BASICS:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>LIFE EXPECTANCY = 3-5 YEARS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Average VRLA (Valve-regulated, lead-acid) batteries will last 3-5 years<\/p>\n<p><strong>TEMPERATURE &amp; HUMIDITY = 77\u00b0F<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Optimal temperature for maximum life is 77\u00b0F (25\u00b0C), with an operating temperature range between 32\u00b0F \u2013 104\u00b0F (0\u00b0C \u2013 40\u00b0C). Operating outside this range will adversely affect the performance and longevity of the batteries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USE &amp; STORAGE = 8 HOURS EVERY 90 DAYS + DEEP-CYCLE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If stored, batteries should be charged 8 hours minimum every 90 days. Repeated, short-cycle use of VRLA batteries reduces overall performance.
