Spring has arrived and that means April showers will be bringing some lovely May flowers. While the warmer weather and flowers are certainly a welcome change, the ‘April showers’ may not be so welcome. Although it may not seem like spring in the North East right now, in Dallas we have officially swapped out snow and ice storms for thunderstorms. While I’m a big fan of thunderstorms, I’m not such a big fan of what they can cause, such as power outages and damage to business and equipment.
With the announcement of spring last week, much of North Texas was greeted by this amazing display of thunder and lightning. While this was quite a sight to see, it also brought us a little reminder of the upcoming storm season.
Thus, spring brings showers, showers bring thunder, thunder brings lightning, and lightning brings power problems. Or at least spring has the potential to bring downtime and damage to equipment.
Weather is the #1 cause for power problems.
Because of this fact, many power issues occur during winter and spring, the high times for storms. In our last installment of Newbie’s Nook, we talked about the five most common power problems and how they can affect you and your business. For example, a spike from a single lightning bolt can lead to a power outage and damage to vital equipment.
